Around the hall
We continue to be affected quite significantly this year with the Covid19 pandemic creating challenging conditions with rehearsal pauses, state restrictions at various times on events, performances and on households and individuals. But safety of our members is front most..... so we are "soldiering"on in a solid fashion around this, appreciating all the more when we can get together to rehearse and perform!
We plan, we adapt.....
MD Update
We welcome Aaron Madden, who has joined us to lead Marion Band as MD, with Emily Legg continuing to MD Warriparinga Brass, This is very exciting indeed. Initially trialing through to Nationals Online, but with this event postponed then cancelled, he is still with us ... and hopefully keen to continue on as the year progresses and we hear any news on the states front!
Community News and Recruitment
Through late 2021 and early months of 2022, work has been in progress on our council funding submission. This includes an extensive audit of instruments, details information of events and community involvements, and future planning. We are pleased to confirm that the City of Marion continues to be extremely supporting of our organisation, and has approved funding support for us to move forward through the next 5 years. Recruitment continues to be a focus of the committee, particularly with the challenges covid has presented!
We are always on the look out for musicians of all abilities (from newly starting out, to experienced players) to join our ranks, so if you are interested in joining us - or know someone that might be keen to have a go, please contact us (flyer attached),
Upcoming Events
We are proud again to be supporting the upcoming ANZAC Services at both Marion RSL and Edwardstown Memorial Gardens, and the Marion RSL Youth Vigil. We are also a supporting band at the Adelaide ANZAC DAY MARCH in the city.
